Service

In order to keep costs to a minimum I normally work on my own. This may mean that I will need you to provide assistance both loading and unloading the van.

Capacity

We have a very large modern van, with a load capacity of 17.4 cubic meters. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Packing

We will pack the van (with your help!). Everything will be properly loaded and secured. Plenty of blankets, padding and restraining equipment is carried on the van. This will protect your furniture, but you will need to pack smaller items in strong cardboard boxes. Take care not to make the boxes so heavy they cannot be lifted (books are especially heavy!). Breakable items, such as glassware, crockery and mirrors will need to be carefully packed so that they arrive at your new home undamaged.

Timing

We aim to provide you with a tailor made service, fitting in with your needs, not our schedule. We undertake to both collect and deliver your furniture on the dates of your choosing. Should you need us to store your furniture for a short period, then this can be arranged.

Payment

Should you decide to use our services, we will give you a firm quote. This will not be changed. A part payment is normally requested 3-4 weeks before your moving date, or at the time ferries are booked, with the remainder becoming due seven days before your move.

Gentleman With A Van is not VAT registered and there are no hidden charges.
